As the creator, editor and author of Perspectives: Technology, Global Privacy and Data Protection Law and It’s Personal: Children, Privacy, Technology and the Law, two law and technology blogs where I provide thoughtful leadership and advocacy in support of judicial and legislative reform across social media platforms. My approach is to challenge traditional conventions, while directing a conversation with Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT to explore complex issues such as ethical AI development, data privacy, and the impact of automation on society in the digital age.
These platforms provide legal commentary addressing subtle harms across social media platforms that impact children in the context of family law and child custody proceedings, which includes a study of algorithmic and health care bias and discrimination, automated decision-making, the need for supporting a trauma informed judiciary, cyber intrusion and concerns associated with trust and safety across the internet. I provide additional insight on science and technology, global privacy, and data protection law (CCPA, CPRA, GDPR), children’s privacy (COPPA), biometrics, and immersive entertainment.
